Spotlight On : Dressing Up

Welcome to a new feature here at WrestlingByTinks. Every week I'll be taking a look at different aspects of the world of wrestling or of the people we love to watch. If you've a suggestion of something you'd like to see under the spotlight pop it in the comment box and I'll add it to my list :)

My first focus came about after last week's episodes of Raw and Smackdown and it's all about dressing up and imitation

It is said that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, but in the world of professional wrestling imitation is more about parodies than flattery and is mainly played for laughs, and quite often make the audience cringe!

The group perhaps most notorious for their parodies is DX. In their many incarnations Degeneration X spent much of their time taking the mick out their opponents.

Their first came in 1998 when, along with impressionist Jason Sensation, they sent up The Nation.
Triple H - The Crock
Road Dogg - B'Lo Brown
Billy Gunn - The GunnFather
X Pac - Mizark Henry
Jason Sensation - Owen Hart

Later the same year DX would reunite with Sensation to take part in another parody

This time they took on the Corporation. Triple H reprises his role as The Crock while Road Dogg took on Mr McMahon followed by two little people as Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco, Billy Gunn ribbed Shane McMahon while X Pac played Ken Shamrock. Chyna also took part as Big Boss Man while Jason Sensation took the part of the now outcast Shawn Michaels.

DX would further raid the dressing up box as the McMahon's when they reunited in 2006

Degeneration X would find themselves on the wrong end of the parody later on in that year when Rated RKO would mock them during their feud

Perhaps my favourite of all however, would be the many faces of Charlie Hass

Just looking back over these have given me a real lift, and a giggle. I thoroughly advocate going over to youtube and looking them up - seriously, if you need a laugh they'll help!

Thanks for stopping by, keep looking out for more Spotlight on soon!
