Spotlight on: Money in the Bank

Hey guys! Apologies for no posts since last week, I've been away and had no internet (fancy that, a place with no WIFI).

Onwards to this weeks spotlight. This Sunday sees the 4th Annual Money in the Bank Pay Per View after the match was plucked from its Wrestlemania spot and given a show of its own.  It's actually my favourite show of the year because of it's unpredictability. There have been twelve Money in The  Bank matches since Chris Jericho invented the match in 2005.

Climbing the ladder and retrieving the briefcase to become Mr. Money in the Bank is meant to be your 'shot'. A contract for a title match anytime in the next year can skyrocket a wrestlers career, but it doesn't always work that way.

There have been eleven successful cash ins with 2012 winner John Cena being the only man to fail to win the title but spare a thought for Mr Kennedy; he never got the chance to cash in, instead losing his briefcase to Edge.

While Edge cashed in twice, CM Punk is perhaps the most successful Money in the Bank participants; winning the briefcase in both 2008 and 2009 Punk is the only competitor to win in back to back years.

Kane has the record number appearances at Money in the Bank with 6 attempts, and on winning in 2010 he also became the only man to cash in his contract on the same night.

Edge has another record at Money in the Bank; after winning his first contract Edge would go on to hold the briefcase for 280 days before cashing in on John Cena.

This year will be the second time that all the participants in the WWE Championship Money in the Bank match are previous champions. Will it be a lucky night for the returning Rob Van Dam? Which of the future stars will win the opportunity to change their careers?

Money in the Bank airs live on Sky Sports on Sunday 14th at 1am. Check back for my predictions on Sunday.
